Accredited Mental Health Social Work can offer counselling and psychological therapy to people experiencing mental health concerns. Daniel offers patients Medicare rebates with a mental health care plan from your GP. Daniel has over 16 years of experience in providing therapy services for adolescents and young people (12-25) as well as adults. He offers short term therapy (up to 10 therapy sessions) as well as long term intensive psychotherapy to assist people overcome problems such as depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, anger management, dealing with excessive guilt, and psychological trauma including PTSD.

When a shorter-term approach is required, Daniel uses principles from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour therapy to guide his practice. Daniel also will at times utilise Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprogramming (EMDR) to assist people manage and overcome various difficulties stemming from psychological trauma. Generally, session fees are $160 per session (with a rebate of $81.90 for those with a current Mental Health Care Plan). For concession card holders therapy sessions cost $101.90 ($81.90 Medicare rebate and $20 gap payment).

When a long-term intensive therapy approach is chosen Daniel uses a psychoanalytic psychotherapy perspective. Generally long-term intensive therapy involves weekly sessions where the focus is on assisting people to understand their themselves and how their unconscious motivations, psychological defences and relationships impact on their ability to manage emotions and relate to others. Therapy session fees are negotiated.

Late appointments are available and Daniel will certainly do his best to accommodate urgent matters.

Fees

Medicare rebates are available with a better access referral from your GP and more importantly, concession card holders will only be charged a $20.00 gap with this referral in place.
