Rob Ellinger
Clinical Hypnotherapy
About Rob
Rob is an experienced clinical hypnotherapist and psychotherapist who helps people make meaningful changes in their lives. He holds advanced training in clinical hypnosis from the South Australian Society of Hypnosis (SASH) and a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy from the Australian Hypnotherapy College (AHC). Rob is also an active member of both SASH and the Australian Hypnotherapists’ Association (AHA).
Rob has additional training in hypno-EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). EMDR is a powerful and effective approach that helps the brain gently reprocess distressing memories, so they lose their emotional charge and impact. EMDR can be an empowering way to heal from trauma and build lasting emotional resilience.
Alongside his hypnotherapy work, Rob is a Registered Nurse with more than a decade of experience caring for children with cancer at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in North Adelaide. This experience has given him a deep understanding of how stress, grief, and trauma can affect both the mind and body; how compassion and evidence-based care can help people move forward.
By combining healthcare knowledge with advanced hypnotherapy skills, Rob takes a warm, holistic approach to helping clients improve their mental, emotional, and physical well-being. He’s passionate about showing people how to use the power of their unconscious mind to create real, lasting change.
Outside of his clinical work, Rob enjoys performing magic, both on stage and in everyday life, and has performed nationally and internationally. He also loves walking, watching films, and getting lost in a good book.

Rob’s approach
Rob’s work is grounded in evidence-based practice, but guided by warmth, curiosity, and care.
“I believe that hypnosis is a natural state of mind that all people experience. Far from being somehow otherworldly or bizarre, it is a natural process that we all experience daily. Hypnosis and the unconscious mind can be extremely mysterious, but not mystical; and it is the naturalness of it that makes it so wonderful. It is a skill that anyone can learn to use. By working intentionally with our unconscious mind, we can create powerful and lasting changes in our lives.”
