What is Traditional Chinese Medicine?
Traditional Chinese Medicine is a traditional medicine stream from ancient China starting approximately 5000 years ago.

It evolved from the intense observation of nature, its cycles and influences on human wellbeing. Developing the philosophy of Yin and Yang, Qi (chi- the life force) and the Tao (the way of life). It has grown into the complex and ever evolving traditional medical stream it is today, healing and optimising the health of people in a myriad of ways.

What does Traditional Chinese Medicine involve?
Traditional Chinese Medicine includes a few modalities. Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Therapy are the main ones but it also offers moxabustion, cupping, gua sha, massage and dietary therapy as well, depending on the persons health needs.

Who can benefit from Traditional Chinese Medicine?
Literally anyone. For the person who just wants to maintain optimal health from the “wear and tear” of life.
To very specific needs such as pain, injury, and musculoskeletal problems to more systemic issues such as hormonal regulation, poor energy, weak immunity, and stress. TCM also pairs alongside allopathic medical streams such as IVF and chemotherapy support.

Why would someone consider booking?
TCM is an incredibly supportive treatment option for people with sensitive healthcare needs. It helps achieve positive health outcomes and the minimising of uncomfortable symptoms both acute and chronic but with no side effects.

How do you feel after a treatment?
If you’ve never had a treatment you may feel extra relaxed due to the natural chemical changes occurring in your body, the “rest and restore” mode from your nervous system. If you’re used to treatment you will still feel relaxed but mot quite so intensely.

What to expect after treatment?
Besides the initial relaxation response, you will sleep better, have more effective digestion, feel calmer, more energetic and if you are being treated for pain your pain levels should begin to lower. Immune system functions more effectively and the hormones should start to regulate. This can take from 1 to 8 treatments to achieve. As life tends to wear the body out it’s advised to maintain your good health with regular or maintenance treatments.
